The Pro Scout Clinics are run by Major League scouts and Instructors. We offer Clinics in November and December 2024.
Pro Scout Clinics are Optional and Require Registration
Registration is limited to 12-16 participants per session. Players are assigned to Session 1 (8:30am to 10:00) or Session 2 (10:30am to Noon) based on availability, age, and other grouping considerations. The Pro Scout Hitting clinic may include video and video analysis of each player.
Ruffnecks apparel is required. Cap and tee.
Gray baseball pants, Ruffnecks sweats, or Ruffnecks shorts.
WOOD BATS ONLY
There are two Sessions each day. Groups, A & B.
Within each Session Group there are multiple hitting stations (up to 4). Hitting Group Assignments are made and communicated in advance. Assignments are subject to change and adjustments. Details follow:
Ruffnecks clinics are prioritized for current Ruffnecks. They are optional. Clinics provide opportunities to experience intensive, instructional, sessions with Professional scouts, and some college coaches who work hands-on with hitters in small station work. Drill work is based on professional routines.
Pro Scout Hitting Clinic sessions are blocked for 90 minutes. Activity is focused on station work and high repetitions. Players may develop blisters if their hands are not already calloused. Specific details of the clinic follow:
The Rich Gedman Catching clinics are a series of 6 sessions on 6 conscutive Tuesdays. Catchers may register for one or more sessions. Each session is limited to 6 catchers for maximum instruction (pairs). Sessions are a combination of high intensity work and lecture.
Rich Gedman is considered one of the most knowledgeable, experienced, catching instructors anywhere. A two-time Major League All Star with the Boston Red Sox, Mr. Gedman is currently on the Boston Red Sox coaching staff as Triple A Hitting and Catching Coach for the Worcester WooSox.
Registrations are on a first come, first served basis until full. Full payment must accompany registration forms to secure a place in the clinic. Fees are used to cover the cost of instructors and to support funding for the Ruffnecks Hitting Facility.
Other clinics may be offered from time to time. Ruffnecks clinics are offered to current Ruffnecks players before any spots are allocated to Open Registration.
