We bring back the Pro-Scout Hitting Clinic run by Major League scouts and supervised by Matt Hyde (NY Yankees) for a single day on Sunday, January 16th.  Registration is limited to 12-14 participants per session  Two FULL sessions are scheduled.  Details follow below:

  • Each player will participate in ONE session of 90 minutes each.
  • Sessions are scheduled  at 8:30am and 10:30am
  • 12 to 14 players per session

Ruffnecks clinics are prioritized for current Ruffnecks.  They are optional opportunities to experience intensive, instructional, sessions.  An expanded network of professional scouts, college coaches, and instructors staff Ruffnecks clinics.  Registrations are on a first come, first served basis.  A limited number of registrations are open to the pubic.  Full payment must accompany registration forms to secure a place in the clinic.  Fees are used to cover the cost of instructors and to support funding for the Ruffnecks Hitting Facility.

Groups and Assignments:

AssignmentsThere are two Session Groups, A & B.  Within each Session Group there are four hitting groups (1, 2, 3, 4).  Players must know their Session and Hitting Group Assignments.  Individual player assignments can be referenced by clicking on the image below.  Assignments are subject to change and adjustments.  Details follow:

  • Assignments posted as of Friday, January 14th
  • Group A (8:30am to 10:00)
  • Group B (10:30am to 12:00)
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your assigned time.
  • Players MUST be in Ruffnecks apparel.  Wood Bats.  Bring your helmet.

Other clinics will be offered from time to time.  Ruffnecks clinics are offered to current Ruffnecks players before any spots are allocated to Open Registration.  Limited Open Registrations may be available to non-Ruffnecks by invitation only.  Inquiries may be made by contacting

Clinic Structure:

Players participate in a session that is blocked for 90 minutes.  Activity is intensive and focused on station work and high repetitions.  Players may develop blisters if their hands are not already calloused.  Specific details of the clinic follow:

  • Instruction is directly with professional scouts and instructors.
  • College coaches may attend all or part of the sessions based on NCAA regulations.
  • Station Work: Each day there are three to four stations (3-4 players per station).
  • Players must use WOOD BATS.
  • Video may be used.
  • Players should arrive no sooner than 15 minutes prior to the start of each session.  Be on time.
