This page is a landing spot for referencing the Winter Calendar, Ruffnecks Clinics, and general Winter information. Hours for the Indoor Hitting Facility are posted on the Hitting Facility Page. The 2022-2023 Winter Schedule provides opportunities for Ruffnecks to prepare for the 2023 baseball season. Whether that preparation is for the spring 13U & 14U Ruffnecks teams, or for older players’ high school and prep seasons, the Ruffnecks Winter Program takes a measured, purposeful, approach. What this means is that we offer plenty, but do not do too much!
Beginning Saturday, November 19, and continuing through Wednesday, November 23, the Facility is open each day at 10:00 in the morning. We encourage Ruffnecks who are on Thanksgiving break to utilize and enjoy the Facility. Hitters may utilize the cages on their own or with teammates. Access is nearly unrestricted and without fees or reservations for cage use. The Lounge is open for relaxation and watching football games on TV. 13U and 14U Team Hitting sessions resume in December. When Team sessions are scheduled, the Facility is closed to other hitters. Reference the MONTHLY CALENDAR.
The program hosts exclusive Pro Scout Hitting Clinics in November and December. Details are available on the Pro Scout Clinic page. Registration is by filling out the form on the Pro Clinics dropdown. The first Pro Scout Hitting Clinic is scheduled for Sunday, November 27!
The Winter Workouts are designed to provide Spring Training-like preparation for Ruffnecks players to get ready for the upcoming season. The workouts are repetition oriented. The Indoor “Bubbles” at BC and Harvard may be available during the winter of 2023. We may also conduct workouts outside at the NEBC (weather permitting). These workouts consist of full-field positional drills, and side sessions (for pitchers)
Players are expected to wear ONLY Ruffnecks gear to Winter Workouts. We ask Ruffnecks players to wear their BLUE, numbered tees or performance shirts, gray baseball pants or Ruffnecks sweats, and their Ruffnecks caps to all Winter Workouts. Long sleeves are recommended during winter.
Ruffnecks players are asked to respond to weekly roll calls for attendance. Notices for inclement weather or cancellations are communicated through email and through postings on the home page of this website. Families should NOT depart from home during winter weather without checking email and the website for updates.
